State Information

In 2006, Iowa was the only Midwestern state to have a growing economy. Its major industries include the production of food products, non-electrical machinery and fabricated products.

The state is also the home of Madison County, where the fictitious Bridges of Madison County was set. This story is perhaps one of the most famous novels of the 1990s, and it sent thousands of fans to the remote location. Other than this, Iowa’s tourist attractions include the birthplace and library of Herbert Hoover and the Fort Dodge Historical Museum, Stockade and Fort.
