State Information
Surpassing only Wyoming in population, Vermont is home to just over six hundred thousand people. It is a primary producer of dairy products, and the famous Ben and Jerry ice-cream calls Vermont home.
Maple syrup and tourism are also sources of income for the state whose name translates from French as “green mountain.” A large percentage of the state’s residents live in communities of less than 2,500, and, as a fun aside, Vermont has the greatest number of cows to people in the entire United States.
