State Information

Named after England’s Elizabeth I, the “Virgin Queen”, Virginia is home to the first English settlement in the United States and is known as the birthplace on the nation. Eight U.S. presidents were born in the state and its also produced Kentucky and West Virginia.

It is so centrally located to major East Coast locations, that half the people in the United States live within a five-hundred mile radius of Virginia’s capital. Its major industries include farming, tourism, U.S. Navy warships and mining. It shares a border with Washington D.C. and thus also enjoys much government industry.
